Thanks to the Clinton Democratic Club of Northeast Queens for hosting me last night at your meeting!
From last night's Clinton Democratic Club of Northeast Queens meeting. Thanks to Club President Paul Vallone (pictured here) for hosting me!
I am proud to announce that I have earned the endorsement of the New Era Democrats (NED), a prominent political club based in Brooklyn.
What NED brings is the best of neighborhood activism and community organizing, which are the building blocks of any successful political campaign. Mary Sansone and the hard-working officers and members of NED give me a big advantage in this important part of Brooklyn, an area I consider to be my base.
What a week! On Wednesday I received The Martin Luther King, Jr. Faculty Award from New York University.
NYU President John Sexton, Provost David W. McLaughlin, and Associate Dean Pat Carey from the Steinhardt School of Education presented me the award "In honor of your teaching excellence, leadership, social justice and community building which exemplify the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
I am grateful for this award and all that it means. MLK said that 'Intelligence plus character – that is the true goal of education.' I believe that I received this award because for the last 43 years of my life, teachers and educators poured themselves into me. My mother and my father were both teachers and parented me with all the superb qualities of a great teacher: discipline, love, equity and passion.
Thanks to everyone who came out to yesterday's
Public Advocate Candidates Forum in Queens. It was great to tackle the issues and hear from everyone!
Thanks to The Powhatan & Pocahontas Regular Democratic Club of Queens, The Anoroc Democratic Club, and The Lesbian & Gay Democratic Club of Queens for sponsoring!
